A local teacher devised these Leglites a few years ago – to be seen out walking, cycling or running. Just pop it on and go!
A must in everyone’s stocking!
The Commuter – this one is for the busy cyclist – it has a zip so it is really easy to put on or take off. Leglites help drivers to predict where you are going and so avoid you.
If you are wearing a trouser leg or a bike tight this one may be for you. As there is a zip it is easy to put on or take off (no need to remove your shoe). The commuter version is not meant to be skin-tight like ‘The Tube’ so it can stretch slightly and accommodate clothing underneath but if you buy a smaller size it will hug the calf nicely.
Sizes – all are made of a lycra and nylon mix so there is reasonable flexibility built in, do not over-stretch the garments or they will lose their flexibility and stitching may come undone.
Large (36cm = circumference unstretched)
Medium (32cm = circumference unstretched)
Small (28cm = circumference unstretched) yellow.
The length of all Leglite Commuters is 35cm.
Colours –high vis fluorescent yellow – all have a reflective strip.
As vehicle lights are dipped and turned slightly towards the verge or pavement and as the lower leg is in motion the reflective strips deflect the vehicle lights back to the driver. They reflect at a much greater distance than any other item on your bike or person due to their position and the motion of the leg. This is something we do not see unless we are the ones behind the wheel.
