Copperfish Lighting’s Lighthouse lamps are reminiscent of Ireland’s lighthouses of old – battered, worn and beautiful with a warm amber glow to welcome you home on a stormy evening. Their Mizen Head lamp stands tall and proud like the Mizen Head lighthouse on Ireland’s most Southwesterly point.

This table lamp consists of a pear-shaped retro bulb encased in an aged steel frame, sitting on copper piping and painted by hand using artist’s paints. The handcrafted base is of salvaged timber – generally teak, oak or jarrah (depending on what they have in stock) and is complemented by a retro twisted, braided cord chosen to suit each individual piece.

Each lamp is unique, the colour, grain and finish of the wood will vary from lamp to lamp. All Copperfish Lighting’s lamps are made by hand in their studio in Delgany, Co. Wicklow and each comes with a handwritten label describing its provenance.

Bulb Information

The bulb is a pear-shaped, retro style, long-life LED with amber glass and spiral filament. 3/4 watt, 6 x 12 cms. It will last a minimum of 30,000 hours/10 years approx.

The full lamp stands 40cms high approx. Base 13cms square. 3-core wired, earthed, 220-240 volt, E27 fitting. Plug is a black 3 pin UK/Ireland plug.

    Makers: Copperfish Lighting

    From quiet country churches, silent docks and forgotten railway sleepers, Copperfish’s lighting begins with the unique textures of their salvaged wood. Coupling this storied wood with industrial materials and elegant retro bulbs they craft lighting collections for modern homes and spaces.

    Each lamp is unique, the colour, grain and finish of the wood will vary from lamp to lamp. All Copperfish Lighting’s lamps are made by hand in their studio in Delgany, Co. Wicklow.

    Eoin Shanley set up Copperfish Lighting in Delgany, Co. Wicklow in 2016. He began working with old and reclaimed wood under the tutelage of a former coach builder and master joiner during the renovation of a 200-year-old, thatched cottage in Leitrim. At the time, Eoin found it difficult to find lighting that he liked and started to make his own. He quickly started to get requests from friends and family and decided to set up Copperfish Lighting to make lamps fulltime.
