Springburst – Caroline Canning

Caroline Canning exhibits regularly with Jorgensen Fine Art. She started but didn’t finish a fine art course, opting out because of ‘too much thinking and not enough painting’. She works in a huge, light-filled room (half kitchen, half studio) at her home in Dublin. ‘A couple of years ago, I thought it would be a good discipline to move my practice to an external studio’, she says. ‘Bad Idea. My best work happens amidst the domestic jumble and even if someone occasionally complains about the butter tasting of turps, it makes, for me, the perfect work-life balance’. She works in oils and acrylics and on an iPad.
